An ice build up around the drain hole normally indicates a blockage in the drain hole of the pipe leading away from it.
Clearing the drain hole
- To clear the drain hole first melt away any built up ice using either hot water or carefully with a hair dryer set to medium (do not to melt the liner).
- Then poke a drinking straw down the hole moving it back and forth as you go. This action should be enough to clear any blockages and allow the defrost water to run away.
- The appliance is touching the wall or other objects >>> Move the appliance slightly.
- A component, e.g. a pipe, on the rear of the appliance is touching another part of the appliance or the wall >>> If necessary, carefully bend the component out of the way.
- If the noise can be heard coming from the rear of the product and is associated with the compressor failing to start up due to an internal fault >>> Contact Glen Dimplex
